By Barb Van Atta At a news conference today (March 16), the Broome County Arts Council (BCAC) awarded $232,815 in United Cultural Fund (UCF) grants to 22 local arts organizations, community non-profits and individual artists. BC ARTS COUNCIL AWARDS $233,000 IN 2014 UCF GRANTS

The Broome County Arts Council (BCAC), located at 81 State Street, Stephens Square Bldg Suite 501, Binghamton announced United Cultural Fund (UCF) Grants for 2014 of more than $233,000, during a Wednesday morning news conference. Grants went to sixteen arts and cultural non-profit organizations and 4 individual artists, including a composer, a playwright, a muralist and a filmmaker. Local artist Joanne Thorne Arnold, who is also a member of BCAC's Board of Directors, is blogging about her recent trip to see the Barnes Foundation's famous collection in Philadelphia.
