What a great time of year! Some arts organizations are finishing up their seasons; others are just getting started. I was too busy performing this weekend -- Downtown Singers on Saturday (May 31) -- to be an audience member. What about you? What did you see, hear, look at, admire (or not)? Please share your arts adventures.

On Saturday, I was privileged to be in the audience for the Downtown Singers' spring concert. Karl Jenkins' Requiem is an amazing piece, and the Singers did a wonderful job. Were the arts part of your weekend, too? Did you perform, rehearse, gallery-hop or just sit back in the air-conditioning and talk with friends  about the past, present and future of the arts in Broome County? Please share....

BAMirror contributors will be walking the walk as well as talking the talk over the next couple of weekends. Also performing will be Jeffrey Wahl, recorder; Madeleine Iannone,...

Were you at the final Madrigal Singers concert of the season? Please share....

Here is a link to a Good Times story that features chorus members who...

Reviewed by Leo Cotnoir Before moving to Binghamton a decade ago, I lived for many years in Washinton, D.C. The nation's capital is home to some of the best professional choruses in the world, so I heard many outstanding performances of Handel's "Messiah."  The Downtown Singers could share the stage with any of them (full disclosure: my wife, Glenda, was in the alto section at The Forum in Binghamton). Not only was the singing splendid but the orchestra, except for a few intonation issues among the second...
