The Binghamton Theatre Organ Society will dedicate its 2017-2018 season to its founder and volunteer executive director, Paul F. Stapel, who passed away recently. Stapel, a native of Muskegon, Michigan, came to this community to serve as executive director of the Binghamton Symphony Orchestra (now the Binghamton Philharmonic) from 1983 to 1986.  He later was instrumental in the merger of the Art Theater and Art Mission to become the ART Mission and Theater and was its first executive director. BCAC Call for Exhibition & Program Proposals

Broome County Arts Council (BCAC) is planning gallery exhibitions and programs for 2018. BCAC invites fine artists and cultural curators who live and work in Broome County to submit proposals for gallery exhibitions and programs for consideration by BCAC’s Program and Marketing Committee. Proposals are invited from visual artists, poets and writers, musicians, and performing artists, as well as curators of cultural programs with local significance. Emerging artists are welcome to submit proposals. Priority will be given to BCAC members but...

Hundreds come out to Support BCAC

September 28 at The Binghamton Club The Broome County Arts Council wishes to thank all of the at attendees, sponsors, distillers and musicians who made our first Bourbon, Beef and Brews fundraiser such a success. Northeastern Striping Corporation, UHS, F.E.Jones Construction and Fredrick Lacey DDS were the sponsors for the event. Attendees were treated to music by Curt Osgood and Friends and by Barb Fox's DJ Entertainment.    (more…)...

BCAC Taps Former County Parks Director as Interim Leader

The Broome County Arts Council’s board of directors has selected former Broome County Director of Parks, Recreation and Youth Services Arthur (Art) Garrison as the BCAC’s interim executive director. Garrison, who will begin Monday (July 24), follows Laura Knochen-Davis, who announced in April that she was stepping down. (more…)...

Executive Director Laura Knochen-Davis will be leaving the Broome County Arts Council (BCAC) as of July 28. Knochen-Davis told the arts council board of directors that she is facing some family obligations that require her complete attention. "I am disappointed not to be able to continue in my position as I was looking forward to a long relationship with the BCAC," said Knochen-Davis, who became executive director in January 2016.
