The Broome County Arts Council presents the works of Aksel Sand Pedersen.
Artist, art educator and art historian, Aksel Sand Pedersen has spent the greater part of his life in the arts. His Danish grandfather, Carl Sand, was an artist in Copenhagen and several of his local landscape city paintings adorned the walls of the family dwelling in Brooklyn.Find out more »
A concert of traditional African music will be performed by a full ensemble of drummers and dancers, directed by James Burns and Elikem Nyamuame. African dance-drumming typically juxtaposes several art forms together including storytelling, pantomime, oral history and community wisdom. EPAC colaborates with outside dance studios to bring this holiday classic to the EPAC stage every year. EPAC produces the first act of the Nutcracker, which takes place at a Christmas Party, followed by a magical dream sequence with a dance battle between toy soldiers and rats. The second act takes us to the magical land of sweets, produced and performed completely by outside dance studios.
