North and South: Music from Russia and South America
January 27 @ 7:30 pm - 9:00 pm$5 - $15
The “North and South: Music from Russia and South America” concert is a celebration of contrast and collaboration performed at 7:30 p.m. Saturday, Jan. 27 in the Anderson Center Chamber Hall at Binghamton University. The Binghamton Piano Trio (violinist Uli Speth, cellist Zachary Sweet and pianist Joel Harder) will perform Dmitri Shostakovich’s searing Piano Trio No. 2 in e minor, and Joaquin Turína’s colorful and Latin-flavored Círculo. In a unique and very special collaboration, Andy Horowitz of Galumpha has choreographed an ensemble including both Binghamton dance students and professional dancers, performing alongside the vivacious Tango suite of Astor Piazzolla’s Four Seasons of Buenos Aires. The dancers performing are: Gil Choi, Kim Washington, Jada Greene, Eboni Carter, Molly Hatch, Lyndsey Petrofsky, Prisca Hoffstaetter, Serina DeHart, Kelice Charles, Yu Jin and Jennie Codis. A concert not to be missed!
Tickets for the concert are $15, general admission; $10, for faculty, staff, alumni and seniors; and $5, for students and are available at the Anderson Center Box Office from 11 a.m. – 5 p.m. weekdays, by calling 607-777-ARTS, online (anderson.binghamton.edu) or at the door.
