Highlights of Binghamton’s Next First Friday Art Walk – JANUARY 5
Celebrating the holiday season and new year continues at Binghamton’s next First Friday Art Walk with holiday art/artisan and anniversary shows, ice sculpture demonstrations, new gallery exhibits, and winter-themed music performances, some of the highlights among the 22 venue locations open January 5 from 6-9 PM, downtown and west side of Binghamton.
Anniversary and holiday art/artisan shows include:
“14 Years: Anniversary Group Exhibition”: Selection of New Works by ABFA Gallery Program, along with some new artist additions (Thru Jan. 27, 2018) at Anthony Brunelli Fine Arts/ABFA (186 State St., Artists’ Row).
Holiday Show showcasing eight artists: Fern P. Lynn and Mud & Fire-Pottery; Marie LoParco-Mixed Media; David LoParco-Photography; JDS Designs/Janis Schimsky-Jewelry; Marc Schimsky, Laura Monforte, Orazio Salati-Painting (Thru Jan. 2018) at Orazio Salati Gallery & Studio (204 State St., Artists’ Row).
2017 Home for the Holidays at Roberson Museum & Science Center (30 Front St, featuring hundreds of trees, dazzling displays and international forest (Thru Jan. 7, 2018).
The Colonial Ice Sculpture Demos at The Colonial (56-58 Court St.) from 6-8 PM.
Organ Winter Blast with organist Timothy Smith on the Casavant pipe organ at Trinity Memorial Church (44 Main St.) from 7:30-8 PM.

Stephen Palmer: “Mixed Media and Oil Paintings” at Broome Co. Arts Council/BCAC (81 State St., 5th Fl.) with a Jan. 5 First Friday opening reception, 6-9 PM. (Exhibit thru Jan. 26, 2018, on view M-F, 11-5.)
7th Annual Bob Johnston Memorial Photography Show & Competition, sponsored by Cooperative Gallery 213 and Two Rivers Photography Club, at Cooperative Gallery 213 (213 State St., Artists’ Row). This competition will be judged by Chuck Haupt, professional photographer and formerly with The Press and Sun-Bulletin, with winners announced on First Friday at 7 PM. This exhibit continues thru Jan. 27, 2018.
*Residents’ Collections: Pieces by Ada Stallman, Wallace Nutting, Ruth Birch, Flora Rosefsky, and much more (Thru Feb. 2018) at The Gallery at 5 Riverside Drive/Towers (5 Riverside Dr.). (*Residents of 5 Riverside Drive/Towers.)
Angela Cook: “Art Menagerie” (Thru Jan. 2018) at Lost Dog Cafe (222 Water St.). A Meet-the-Artist reception will be held in the Lost Dog Lounge on First Friday, 6-8 PM.
Bob Alan Bricks (Thru Jan. 2018) at The Bundy Museum of History & Art (129 Main St., 3rd Fl. Gallery) and “The Art of Peter Keil – A Retrospective”: Expressive paintings with impressive color and dynamic shape, on loan from a private collection (Thru Feb. 1, 2018) at Bundy Museum Gallery 131 (131 Main St.).
Helga Stein: “Expressions of Nature” photography – Birds, Animals and Flowers (Thru Feb. 2018) at Whole In The Wall/WITW Restaurant (43 S. Washington St.). WITW will be closed Jan. 1-17, reopening on Thursday, Jan. 18, 11 AM-9 PM.
