The Cooperative Gallery 213 celebrated its 10th anniversary on First Friday. Quite an accomplishment! The Cooperative Gallery stimulated a renaissance in the arts on State Street and in Binghamton. The right move at the right time!

Chenango River Theatre will be starting 2010 with a fundraiser to benefit its 2010 season. CRT’s third annual Winter Gala, featuring silent and live auctions, food and entertainment, will be held from 6 to 10 p.m. Saturday, Jan. 16, at The Silo Restaurant in Greene.
Entertainment will be provided by opera stars Jake and Jill Gardner, mime artist Bob DeLuca and actors Tom Kremer and Carol Hanscom. Pianist Claudia Kachmarik and auctioneer Charlie Manasse will work with Mistress of Ceremonies Heidi Weeks to make the evening memorable.
Nearly 100 items have been donated to CRT for the silent and live auctions, including two vacation packages (a week in Provence, France, and a three-day stay at Pride Winery in California’s Napa Valley), rare vintage wines, fine photography, gift certificates to local restaurants and businesses, family membership to the Discovery Center, tickets to local sporting events, rounds of golf and artwork. For auction details, visit http://www.chenangorivertheatre.org, and click on “Gala Fundraiser.”
Hors d’oeuvres, carving stations, desserts, wine, beer and soda are included in the $50/person admission (half of which is tax-deductible). Corporate tables receive a discount and are available for eight or 10 per table. Tickets are available through Jan. 14 by calling 656-8778.
Call that same number if you are interested in donating an item to help the company raise needed funds for the upcoming season.
