SUNY Broome Exhibition Series:

FACES of the Holocaust

This semester, the Art Exhibition Series called FACES consists of portraits of Holocaust Survivors and Non-Survivors, currently displayed on the first floor of the Reference library in the Cecil C. Tyrell Library on the SUNY Broome Campus until February 2018.

These drawings will be highlighted at a Spring Exhibition at 5 Riverside Drive in March and April 2018 with an Artist Talk by Associate Professor Patricia Evans on the subject-matter.

Administration, faculty, staff, students, and our greater Binghamton community are all cordially invited to view the second group of marginalized and overlooked people; the intention being to nudge all to show kindness and compassion towards those that are different.

These classical realist life-size portrait drawings are created by Associate Professor Evans’ Beginning Drawing students and rendered in charcoal, pencil, and mixed media. Additionally, the original photo and personal story for each person affected by the Holocaust has been researched and is on display.
