Roberson Welcomes New Executive Director
After a national search, Roberson Museum and Science Center is proud to announce the appointment of Michael Grasso as our new Executive Director. He assumed responsibilities this week.
Michael succeeds Terry McDonald, our Executive Director since 2005, who earlier announced her resignation to become the Executive Director of a museum in the New Orleans area.
We are thrilled to welcome Michael, who has years of experience in marketing, organizational development, audience services and volunteerism. He most recently served as the Director of Development and Marketing at WSKG Public Media in Vestal, NY.
In the coming months, Michael plans to update Roberson’s technology and infrastructure, strengthen our program offerings and community connections, and provide an even more rewarding visitor experience to our members and guests.
We wish Terry McDonald the best in her new endeavors and look forward to seeing what Michael has in store for Roberson!

In honor of the centennial of Women’s Suffrage in New York State, a new public program was introduced last month to celebrate this important period of history.
This “reading and discussion” program allows participants to come together on a monthly basis and share their various perspectives and have meaningful discussions.
The Book Club is held in the Visitors Center Theater and Melyssa Wrisley, an adjunct instructor in the History, Philosophy and Social Sciences Department from SUNY Broome Community College, is our facilitator.
To register please stop into the Museum or call us at (607) 772-0660
Dates, times and the book that will be discussed in each session are listed below:
• 11/19 at 12 pm – A Woman’s Crusade: Alice Paul and the Battle for the Ballot
• 12/15 at 6 pm – African American Women in the Struggle for the Vote, 1850-1920
• 1/13 at 12 pm – Sex Wars: A Novel of Gilded Age New York.
