Cranberry Coffeehouse “Extra” Concert

At 3 p.m. on Sunday, April 29, the Cranberry Coffeehouse presents a special “extra” to our regularly scheduled season: Claudia Schmidt and Sally Rogers. The duo has been performing for four decades, often in solo ventures. Claudia moves seamlessly between folk, jazz and theater while Sally is well known in the folk world, has created celebrated children’s music, and writes for community theater. When Sally and Claudia joined each other on stage 35 years ago, something about their musical chemistry took them to a new and different place.

They frequently toured together in the 1980s, and recorded two albums, Closing the Distance (Flying Fish Records) and While We Live (Red House Records), They have just released their fourth collaboration, a CD titled “We Are Welcomed.”

We at the Cranberry couldn’t be luckier to have them for an afternoon!

The Cranberry Coffeehouse is held at the Unitarian Universalist Congregation 183 Riverside Drive Binghamton, New York, next to Lourdes Hospital. Suggested donation of $10.

Note: There will be no regular third Saturday Coffeehouse in April.

Another bonus: To view photographs by Dannielle Spindler-Swart and a tribute poem by Martin Bidney of the March 17 St. Paddy’s Day Cranberry Coffeehouse, visit:
