Auditions set for ‘Arsenic and Old Lace’

Auditions will be held from 6:30 to 8:30 p.m. Feb. 23 and 3 to 5 p.m. Feb. 25 in the Bundy Annex in Binghamton for the Summer Savoyards’ upcoming production of Joseph Kesselring’s classic dark comedy Arsenic and Old Lace. The Annex is located behind the Bundy Museum of History & Art, 129 Main St.

The performance will be a fund-raiser for both the Bundy and for the Savoyards, who are best-known for presenting Gilbert & Sullivan operettas every summer. The Arsenic and Old Lace production, which will be April 7, 8, 13 and 14 at the Bundy, is the first of what is hoped will be a continuing cooperative effort between two arts organizations interested in the Victorian era.

Auditions are open to anyone 18 and over; four women and eight men are needed. No appointment is necessary, and nothing needs to be prepared for the audition; passages will be available from which actors can read.

Persons interested in the performance who cannot attend the auditions can make alternate arrangements by emailing mangansis@gmail.com.
